Think about it!
Deciding how to fight old man winter and his abuse to your skin is front and center every year at this time. Cold air generally carries much less moisture than its warmer counterpart, thus making the coming months the most important to skincare.
One must also pay particular attention to the health of the largest organ of the body – your skin. Healthy skin absorbs and holds moisture at a much more proficient rate than nutrient starved and/or element abused skin. That is where product choice is essential. Many creams, lotions, and butter based balms carry many more ingredients with little or no value to moisture retention or skin nutrition than actual beneficial ingredients. Obviously, there may be a disagreement on what is and isn’t beneficial – so let’s pose a question.
If an ingredient in your product is not directly related to increasing the health of the skin, above and beyond its stated purpose of moisturizing or whatever, how is that ingredient increasing the overall health and by default, its ability to regenerate and therefore retain moisture ??? –
Think through what a perfect diet for your body would be. Then ask yourself why are so many of the topical products that you use are such a departure from what is considered perfect. As your skin absorbs your skincare products then deposits the elements of that product into your cells, then on to the bloodstream – hmm- go back reread the label and, well, ponder, as you watch that product absorb. Even so-called pure or natural products will leave you thinking
